What are the responsibilities and job description for the Off Campus Community Service: Southern Vermont AHEC - Health Career Ambassador- Student Employment (Work Study Eligibility Required) position at VTSU?
This work study opportunity is for Vermont State University current students and is remote/hybrid. Southern Vermont Area Health Education Center (AHEC) non-profit organization which focuses on engaging academic and community partners to improve the distribution, diversity, supply, and quality of the health workforce in rural and underserved communities in Southern Vermont.
Southern Vermont AHEC is seeking a student worker in the Health Career Ambassador role who has an interest in a health profession as a career and/or is inspired to connect others to health-related opportunities and professions. The student worker will be working, approximately 10 hours per week, helping to promote, organize, and create innovative activities for other VTSU students and high school youth. Most of the work will be done remotely with some in-person opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in promoting/marketing health career exploration activities to VTSU students
2. Help design and plan creative activities for high school students interested in health-related fields
4. Work with Southern Vermont AHEC staff to develop innovative new ways to market/increase interest in our programs for youth and students
5. Attend weekly check-ins with Southern Vermont AHEC staff
6. Other general duties as assigned
Site supervision provided by the Southern Vermont AHEC’s Director of Health Careers Exploration. Vermont State University supervision for time card entry, time approval, and onboarding will be provided by the Director of Career Development and Innovation.
