Vulcan Fire accepts applications for our Golden, Colorado office. Positions in our company work assigned hours, Monday through Friday. No remote work or relocation available.
Position Summary:
The entry-level fire alarm drafter will train with an experienced designer for fire alarm systems, graphic maps, and other custom work per project specifications. The entry-level drafter should must be able to quickly read and understand project specifications and convert these into existing schematic project drawings or graphic maps. Must be able and willing to learn code by jurisdiction in addition to industry standards (NFPA 72, 10, 15, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a desire to complete assignments, and a capacity for continual learning. A full-time performance-based position requiring the ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production goals in a fast-paced low-voltage company. Plenty of opportunities to grow into senior position.
Education & Required Skills:
- Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of basic electrical wiring a plus.
- Basic understanding of National Electric Code.
- Knowledge of NFPA a plus.
- Shows excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Team player, flexible, self-motivated.
- Works while being trained on the job.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be computer savvy and have the ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrates sound logic.
- Works well under pressure.
- Works in compliance with Federal and State codes.
- AutoCAD required.
- Pass a 10-panel drug test.
- Pass a criminal background check.
