Arwood Machine, a VulcanForms Company, seeks a Manufacturing Specialist for our Newburyport, MA location.
Job Purpose
As the Manufacturing Specialist you will assemble, bench, debur, and finish manufactured aerospace products as well as pack according to specifications. A high attention to detail, excellent hand eye coordination and manual dexterity are required for this position. Please note that the Manufacturing Specialist position is shift-based.
Key Accountabilities
· Assemble machine fabricated metal products and assemblies.
· Debur/finish machine fabricated metal products while maintaining dimensional integrity of the parts.
· Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications.
· Use various hand tools and handheld power tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
· Use bead blaster, deburring shaker, and cleaning station when required.
· Maintain logs or records concerning product inconsistencies.
· Maintain the bench area and all equipment in the assigned area.
· Inventory tools, parts, and supplies, and contact the supervisor if supplies are needed.
· Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· A high school diploma or GED.
· 2 years of experience in related field.
· Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Familiarity and knowledge in the use of hand tools and shop equipment.
· Strict compliance with EH&S policies and PPE/safety protection when and where required.
Preferred
· Recent graduate for an Advanced Manufacturing Technology course of study.
· 5 years pf progressive aerospace manufacturing experience.
· Experience in Additive Manufacturing.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
· Must be able to lift to 30 pounds at a time.
· Must have the manual dexterity to assemble products.
· Must use safety protection when and where required.
