Responsibilities:
Summary:
The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for assisting with managing all packaging processes and staff in accordance with Company objectives, cGMP regulations, and federal and state regulatory requirements.
Your primary activities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide the atmosphere and leadership necessary to develop and maintain positive work relationships and third-party relationships.
- Assist with leading the development and implementation of new packaging solutions and processes.
- Represent the packaging department at internal and external meetings and events.
- Ensure the accuracy of outbound direct shipments and verify all pallets.
- Participate in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
- Ensure high-quality, dependable packaging output at a minimal sustainable cost.
- Meet packaging schedules to ensure cost-effective on-time delivery.
- Prevent packaging interruptions where possible and minimize their duration when they occur.
- Monitor, analyze, and take corrective/improvement action on key departmental metrics.
- Collaborate with the Manager to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and drive product quality through optimized packaging processes.
- Manage, develop, and motivate direct reports by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Assist Manager with performance evaluations.
- Monitors, measures, and reports on Packaging-related issues.
- Collaborate with various departments to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues to ensure on-time delivery to the customer.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
You’ll need the following (minimum qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED preferred, college degree a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in food/pharmaceutical/nutraceutical processing operations, FDA regulated industry, or relevant combination of education and training.
- Excellent written, organizational, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including keyboarding and proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with an ability to build trust, provide direction, and execute with excellence.
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and cooperative attitude.
- Ability to interpret, comply with, and support company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
- Lean six sigma experience.
- Project management experience.
- Engineering background (Nice to have).
