Construction Coordinator

Position Summary
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for planning, budgeting, coordinating, and managing all outside plant construction activities, with a primary focus on FTTH fiber infrastructure. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company and industry standards, with meticulous attention to documentation and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Training : Administer company guidelines, policies, and procedures, and train others to ensure compliance.
- Budgeting and Planning : Develop accurate budgets and estimates for all projects, with a primary focus on FTTH fiber initiatives.
- Project Coordination : Collaborate with the Operations Director, Plant Managers, and Project Manager to establish clear scopes of work, responsibilities, and timelines for construction projects, prioritizing FTTH deployments.
- Execution : Oversee all outside plant projects, including residential, commercial, and right-of-way boring for drop buries, ensuring smooth execution of FTTH and secondary HFC projects.
- Compliance : Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards, local regulations, and company goals, with a focus on maintaining high-quality FTTH installations.
- Permitting : Submit timely applications for permits from relevant agencies and organizations, including local, state, and federal governments, utility companies, and private entities like railroads.
- Resource Management : Ensure the availability of required materials, contractor, and in-house manpower for timely FTTH project execution.
- Stakeholder Relations : Maintain strong relationships with developers, contractors, pole owners, government agencies, and other right-of-way owners to support project success.
- Inspection and Quality Control : Establish and maintain a patrol and inspection program for communications lines that meets NESC and GO95 standards. Verify that all completed work, particularly FTTH projects, meets quality standards and scope before approving invoices for payment.
- Documentation : Ensure all designs, as-built maps, fiber splicing diagrams, and related documentation for FTTH projects are accurately completed, promptly submitted, and accessible to operations personnel. Maintain HFC documentation as a secondary responsibility.
- Communication : Provide clear and concise updates on project statuses, with an emphasis on FTTH progress, to all stakeholders.
