W.B Guimarin & Company, Inc. currently has an opportunity for Commercial HVAC TECHNICIANS in the Columbia, SC area. We are looking for energetic, knowledgeable, and customer-focused HVAC Technicians.
What you will do
Perform troubleshooting and service operations on various HVAC systems to diagnose problems or possible issues and perform preventative maintenance to customers’ HVAC systems to include:
- Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
- Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
- Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source, to form complete circuit.
- Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
- Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.
- Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers, using hand tools.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications.
- Ability to identify basic trade materials by size, shape and function.
- Able to safely use small power tools and hand tools.
- Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
Education and Key Requirements
- Ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of Commercial HVAC experience but will accept if only residential.
- Should have Air Cooled Chiller Experience.
- Acceptable driving record.
- New Employee and Random drug testing required.
- Proficient in PC based computer systems and tablet/smart phone technology.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and details; perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools.
- Ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly; independently safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds routinely, 50 pounds frequently, and 80 pounds occasionally; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffold.
- New Employee physical required.
