Warehouse Specialist

Under direct supervision, the Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for managing onsite warehouse locations, maximizing utilization of space and maintaining organization of materials and inventory.

Requirements

• Receive and process material into warehouse locations.
• Maintain records of materials within the warehouse.
• Operate lift truck or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage area.
• Sort, count, identify, verify and track all material to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Verify receipts and log them according to required procedures.
• Regularly enter inventory data into system of record on a timely basis.
• Cooperate with representatives from other departments in the organization to provide warehouse information as requested.
• Perform regular audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained throughout the warehouse.
• Safely utilize forklifts and power jacks to move warehouse materials; according to proper safety instructions and as directed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervision.
  
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Previous experience with safe operation of forklift.
• Previous experience with stretch-wrap equipment.
• Must be able interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to calculate mathematical values.
• Must have a working knowledge of Internet software usage, order processing systems, inventory software and word processing software.
• Experience with Microsoft excel.
• Must be knowledgeable in warehousing procedures.
• Ability to give attention to detail is a must.
  
  

Required Education & Experience

• 1-2 years of working as a shipping coordinator experience required.
• Preferred knowledge of Lean and visual management.
• High School Diploma.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
• Frequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling.
• Requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling bending, and crouching.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
