Position Summary
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
The William & Mary Washington Center, located in Mt. Vernon Triangle in Washington, D.C., seeks a temporary, full-time Program Assistant. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Program Assistant will principally be charged with administering the D.C. Semester Program.
Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Remote work eligibility is not guaranteed and is subject to approval. Employee eligibility depends on the likelihood of the employee succeeding in a remote work arrangement and the supervisor’s ability to manage remote workers. Departments and/or Human Resources may amend, alter, change, delete, or modify eligibility.
Advertised Pay Range Up to $21.63 per hour Advertised Pay Range Statement
All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.

The William & Mary Washington Center, located in Mt. Vernon Triangle in Washington, D.C., seeks a temporary, full-time Program Assistant. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Program Assistant will principally be charged with administering the D.C. Semester Program.
Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Manage and track student applications and conduct student interviews.
- Organize and facilitate student onboarding and orientations.
- Advise students throughout internship application process.
- Assist in the administration of the programs.
- Subject to late nights and early mornings.
- Subject to frequent travel to campus in Williamsburg, VA.
- Must be able to travel to the main campus for long days and sometimes overnight.
- This position may require additional hours beyond the typical work week, including occasional overnight and weekend work as needed to meet the business needs of the operation.
- This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel monthly to main campus in Williamsburg, VA
- Ability to work independently on professional projects without direct supervision
- Experience coordinating an academic program for undergraduate or graduate students, or comparable program experience.
- Experience working in a higher education setting, coordinating ongoing academic programs.
- Experience working with alumni.
