Required Qualifications
Education
o Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field.
Experience
o 5 years of experience in business systems management, including enterprise system implementation.
Skills
o Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint) and financial ERP systems.
o Experience evaluating, recommending, and implementing business solutions (COTS and custom-built).
o Proven ability to lead projects, manage budgets, and drive process improvements.
o Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The Importance of a Business Systems Manager:
The Business Systems Manager plays a crucial role in advancing business systems management within the framework of the W. M. Keck Observatory’s (WMKO) objectives, mission, vision, and values. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Business Systems Manager oversees and enhances the functionality of business systems, including financial ERP solutions. This role includes managing the implementation, configuration, and optimization of application solutions with a specific emphasis on Microsoft Office 365 tools, particularly Microsoft SharePoint, as well as supporting the use of outsourced HRIS systems. The position involves coordinating complex projects, ensuring the smooth integration of systems, and supporting staff with day-to-day system usage and troubleshooting.
The principal activities of this role encompass developing a business systems strategy and how to manage it, data analytics and report, and project and process management. The Business Systems Manager collaborates across the organization to ensure business systems are secure, compliant, and integrated with IT infrastructure. They partner with senior leadership and other internal stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic priorities.
