Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working in environments such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, or geriatrics. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the care they need while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings such as OR, PICU, or teaching hospitals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures related to trauma centers, medical-surgical care, outpatient services, and geriatrics is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.
