Job Description
Schedule : Monday to Friday, with a couple of off-shift coverages for safety trainings each month.
Reports To : EHS Manager
We're hiring for an EHS Coordinator at the W. R. Grace Chicago 71st site. This role involves ensuring safety and health compliance, conducting safety trainings, and maintaining a visible presence on the floor. The EHS Coordinator will directly support OSHA programs relevant to operations and function as the designated safety representative. They will support the EHS Specialist and engage with employees to promote a safe working environment.
At our Chicago 71st Street site, we produce inorganic chemical catalysts used in petroleum refining and specialty petrochemical industries. Responsibilities
- Conduct safety trainings and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Maintain floor presence and engage with employees on safety practices.
- Audit lockout / tagout procedures and confined space entries.
- Conduct various permit audits and ensure ongoing work complies with safety standards.
- Collaborate with production supervisors on audit procedures.
- Participate in regular audits of procedures through observation.
- Prepare and maintain safety inventories and equipment inspections.
- Conduct training of on-site personnel at awareness level for multiple subject areas.
- Support sampling activities for employee exposure (i.e., noise, respiratory protection, etc.).
- Assist in identification of emerging safety risks and work toward systemic resolution.
