We are currently seeking a results-driven Buyer to help us effectively and efficiently maintain product inventory levels within WBSC’s distribution centers through purchasing activities, forecasting, MRP planning, benchmarking and continuous improvement. As a buyer, you will manage inventory levels & budget as well as interface with leaders and contributors at all levels of the company, customers, and suppliers. This position will be onsite in our corporate headquarters in Vernon Hills, IL.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a results-driven Buyer to help us effectively and efficiently maintain product inventory levels within WBSC’s distribution centers through purchasing activities, forecasting, MRP planning, benchmarking and continuous improvement. As a buyer, you will manage inventory levels & budget as well as interface with leaders and contributors at all levels of the company, customers, and suppliers. This position will be onsite in our corporate headquarters in Vernon Hills, IL.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyzing and improving inventory results and customer service levels
- Preparing & tracking purchase orders, acknowledgements and shipping notices
- Collaborating and communicating with suppliers, teammates, and other departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Accounts Payable, and IT.
- Creating reports and resolving purchase order discrepancies and product defects

- Intermediate Excel skills
- SAP or other ERP system experience
- 1 years in purchasing in a high-volume distribution environment

- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- EDI experience
- Experience purchasing industrial, building, cabinet making and woodworking products for the residential and commercial construction industries.
