Dispatch and Freight Coordinator

The Dispatch & Freight Coordinator will safely plan, organize, schedule and insure the most economical and timely delivery of the company’s FTL freight. Must have at least 1 to 2 years of related experience in full truckload transportation.

A successful candidate must have experience negotiating rates with carriers, brokers and owner operators. Experience with dispatch software and use of the Internet a big plus. helpful.

Responsibilities include:

• Negotiate carrier base to move freight at targeted costs.

• Call on trucking companies to secure rates and trucks.

• Building long-term relationships with carriers/brokers/owner operators.

• Prioritize loads based on truck availability and delivery dates

• Meet service, freight rate and delivery goals.

• Provides accurate and detailed information regarding directions, load information, pick-up/delivery times and other special load related information.

• Maintain paperwork to include insurance certificates and contact information for carriers and owner operators.

Skills and Qualifications:

A successful candidate must have experience negotiating rates with carriers, brokers and owner operators. Internet Experience a must. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience negotiating rates with carriers, brokers and owner operators.

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Friendly and pleasant attitude is a must.

• Excellent MS skills in both Word and Excel

• Cross functional training and support of Customer Service/Sales of WSI team

• May be required to work early morning hours and or late to maintain shipping schedule

• May be asked to perform various duties within the Sales Department to meet and exceed Sales Revenue/unit Expectations

• Stable employment history

• Reports to National Sales Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
