Job Summary
Real Chemistry is looking for a Group Director of Integrated Media Planning to join our growing team! This role requires a leader with a strong media planning background who is able to comfortably navigate between multiple projects and priorities. We’re looking for a seasoned team leader who can manage and mentor teams, while also driving business development, growth, and innovation for the media team and Real Chemistry as a whole.
The Group Director, Integrated Media Planning acts as a paid media lead with clients and internal, cross-functional stakeholders, and as the senior lead on client business to ensure paid media and digital marketing initiatives deliver against the brand’s strategic direction. You will oversee day-to-day teams to drive an audience-first planning and activation approach, working closely with Media Activation, Analytics, Creative, and Account teams to deliver optimal digital marketing strategies that clearly illustrate paid media impact for our clients.
The ideal candidate has the ability to translate data and insights into holistic cross-channel media plans for a variety of healthcare brands, is proficient in media science to define ROI, is a strong team and client lead who frequently brings innovative ideas to the table, as well as an experienced people manager who leads by example and can motivate a team by fostering a positive, entrepreneurial team culture. At the core, you are data-driven in your approach and can easily identify and present the most effective strategies to address client and brand needs, while having a strong analytical mindset and a strong understanding of emerging digital technologies and trends to drive innovation for clients.
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.
What you’ll do :
Develop client relationships and consult with other business units on our media offering and partner to present holistic paid strategies and plans to support business development and growth.
Lead client and business management for key media clients as you convert opportunities into ongoing relationships. You’ll provide direction and oversight to a team of junior planners, setting a clear strategic direction for key media clients, while overseeing the delivery of your team’s industry-leading and innovative plans and planning outputs.
Maintain direct client contact where appropriate and work closely with internal and external partners to ensure the day-to-day account activity is both effectively and efficiently working.
You will strike a balance between strategic media planner and team lead for activation engagements across HCP and DTC media AOR engagements, influencer engagements, and corporate media clients.
Work with the broader Media Activation team to develop standard practices and drive innovation for the entire activation team as it pertains to biddable media, evolving ad tech, partner evolution, and the media landscape as a whole.
Oversee work, troubleshoot concerns with clients, suppliers, and partners that are escalated beyond the day-to-day teams.
When necessary, the Group Director will step in to assist Directors / Associate Directors / Managers in meeting deadlines and deliverables during peak busy times and will maintain leadership on the largest projects and provide input and delegate tasks as required to fulfill projects.
Ensure the Media Team and other capability areas at Real Chemistry are operating as one holistic and integrated team, and that we are viewed as a highly valuable strategic partner across the organization by closely partnering with Account and Strategy leads.
Coach direct reports in their development as seasoned media planning professionals and instill an innovative planning mindset that advances the media expertise of the team by constantly seeking out new ideas and partner solutions.

What you should have :
12-15 years of experience with digital media strategy, planning, and 3 years of dynamic levels of responsibility including client and team management.
Well versed in 360-media planning. Experience with omni-digital channels (programmatic buying, paid social, direct buys, SEM / SEO) is a requirement. Experience with offline, traditional media (print, OOH, linear video, radio) is a plus.
Experience in both Consumer and HCP media, as well as retail and / or e-commerce planning and activation background.
Past experience building a team or working in an entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
Strong experience in developing and rolling out processes across an organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and comfortable communicating with senior-level clients, external and internal partners.
Ability to work successfully with teams, balancing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities and ability to prioritize projects and multitask.
Ability to effectively leverage media research and reporting resources.
A ‘test and learn’, growth-driving approach to performance media is critical.
Experience with site-level analytics and research are an asset.
Pay Range : $180,000.00-$215,000.00
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
