Summary Description :
Plan, direct and coordinate overall operation of the foundry including production flow, processing and distribution to assure product is shipped on time every time. Work with Management team to constantly communicate any issues that arise daily. Serve as head coach and mentor for Leaders. Continually support your team through supporting the company's core values.
Essential Functions :
Analyze production, quality control, maintenance and other related functions to correct and improve processes
Ensure sound, lean manufacturing practices are followed to support the goals of the organization
Ensure maximization of throughput of good product through the plant
Manage and oversee the facility inside and out such that it presents a professional image
Ensure a safe work environment and safe work practices through a proactive safety program
Manage and supervise the development of all direct reports : spend quality time on the shop floor assisting with any issues or problems.
Accountable for overall workforce training and safety procedures
Work with department leaders to maintain staffing levels to accomplish goals and objectives
Be present during production hours.
Dress code : Business / Business casual / smart casual / casual.
Monitor probationary period progress and work with Leaders to assure any deficiencies are proven corrected or the probationary period is not passed.
Ensure the continual progress is made on cross training within and across production departments
Continue company focus on employee engagement
Create and drive continuous improvement agenda that ensures that productivity and foundry projects are successfully executed
Ensure that necessary production and shift meetings occur and are managed effectively on a predetermined schedule
Participate in grievance and labor management meetings
Participate in strategic planning and goal setting activities
Budgetary responsibility for manufacturing departments
Ensure that cost, quality, and delivery goals and other KPI goals are met
Initiate and lead CI programs and cost control efforts
Formulate policies and practices to manage and plan daily use of materials and human resources
Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned
Skills or Experience Required :
B.S. degree in business or engineering related discipline is required. Must have seven (7) years of manufacturing experience.
Other Position Demands or Requirements :
Must have strong communication skills both written and oral.
Working Conditions :
Works 40% of time in climate-controlled office. 60% of time is spent in plant observing operations and is exposed to noise, dust, heat and fumes of the environment. Must be able to wear required PPE while in plant.
