Job Overview :
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Plant Manager to oversee and manage production, quality, and operations at their facility in Westfield, NY. The role involves leading manufacturing processes, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and driving efficiency across production, maintenance, shipping, and quality functions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in food manufacturing, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and motivate a team to meet corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
Direct and oversee plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
Ensure seamless coordination of plant activities to meet manufacturing objectives efficiently.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in compliance with corporate goals.
Oversee integration of new equipment, processes, and customers into the facility.
Develop, implement, and train employees on proper SOPs.
Manage production schedules and shipping preparations.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Collaborate with Distribution, Sales, and Customer Service to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Build, recruit, and manage a cohesive team.
Conduct weekly scheduling for employees and manage inventory of raw and finished goods.
Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, USDA regulations, and food safety / microbiology programs.
Hands-on, technically proficient, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address production challenges.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
5 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably within food manufacturing.
Experience with SQF and HACCP programs.
Certification as an SQF Practitioner is a plus.
