Position Overview
As our Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will act as a team leader for the mechanical discipline contributing to thoughtful, site-responsive projects which remain focused on the end-user and their experience of space.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development of the mechanical engineering discipline, fully engaged to ensure the quality of all completed deliverables within the department meet our design excellence standards. The Senior Mechanical Engineer inspires design and technical excellence through mentoring, teaching and advising of all other mechanical professionals within the department. The Senior Engineer will evolve and monitor our deliverable processes and standards within the discipline of mechanical engineering for all phases of work, including schematic design, design development, construction documents and contract administration; and pursue excellence in collaboration and coordination with project management, architecture, interior design, complimentary engineering disciplines and outside consultants with the goals of delivering projects on time and within budget. As engineering is a critical need for all buildings it will be necessary to train and develop the team as the organization grows.

Responsibilities And Duties
- Provide leadership, teaching, technical oversight, and mentoring to a group of motivated and skilled engineers. Ensure that the team is on board with the firm culture.
- Develop discipline wide design and technical performance goals with metrics and data that verify what success means.
- Manage the development of mechanical engineering on projects as Engineer of Record from pre-design through project completion to meet project goals including aspirational design, budget and schedule.
- Provide timely and relevant communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and project management.
- 10 years experience
- Licensed PE
- NCEES Certification preferred
- Demonstrated capability and experience in mechanical engineering as it relates to HVAC systems
- Demonstrated capability and experience in plumbing engineering as it relates to the AEC industry
- Familiarity with building, mechanical, and energy codes as it relates to buildings.
- Proficiency with Revit and integrated BIM specifications
- Experience in load calculations and system sizing
- Experience with system budgeting and estimating
