What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Assistant position at W3Global?
Position- Logistic Assistant
At least one years of high-volume lane negotiation experience is necessary for this position.
This position will assist Logistic Manager in all shipping lanes and operations in North and South America. Negotiating rates, planning lanes, training, working with other departments, forecasting, planning, and managing relationships for long-term profitability will be the focus of daily efforts.
This job will require a pro-active mindset. Negotiation of contracted and individual shipments with 3PL providers as well as owner-operators, and other options will be a huge part of the job and experience in these areas is required.
We're looking for someone with a proven track record of long-term tenure and building long-term relationships.
Checking on the status of shipments and ensuring expectations are accurate and being met for clients, co-workers, and suppliers is the priority in order to build relationships with each of these positions. Documents will need to be accurate and without mistakes. In many cases, this position will initiate the process by receiving information about a potential sale opportunity and finding shipping options from the current location of the product, to one of several final destination options. Working with co-workers to decide the best option, this position will then finalize necessary agreements with all contacts that will be part of the pick-up, transportation, and drop-off. The next steps will include ensuring all parties are satisfied to that point, all documents are correct, and historical records are kept correctly.
