Job Title: Medical Coding Analyst
Contract Duration: 7 Months
Location: Detroit, MI (onsite)
Pay Rate: $32/hr
Key Responsibilities:
📝 Review and research new code changes released by Coding Authorities (e.g., AMA, CMS) for system implementation specific to PPO and HMO Commercial Business.
🤝 Collaborate with physicians and other team members to ensure accurate coding and mapping activities.
🎓 Qualifications:
• 🎓 Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 📜 Certification Required: RHIT or RHIA with a specialty certification such as CCS or CCS-P.
• 📚 Knowledgeable in the use of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS code books.
• 💼 Experience working with BCBSM/BCN benefits and/or claims is preferred.
• 💻 Familiarity with systems like NASCO, MOS, and/or BCU is an advantage.
🌟 Skills and Preferences:
• 🧠 Strong analytical skills to investigate and organize ideas effectively.
• 💡 Proficiency in PC applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office tools.
• 🔗 Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
• ✍️ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 🌐 Familiarity with PPO and HMO claim systems and benefits is a plus.
