The Safe Parking Outreach Coordinator will work as a contractor for the Safe Parking Outreach Council and its fiscal agent, Sustainable Seattle. The council is a community-based board of volunteers committed to helping vehicle residents secure safe places to live.
The Safe Parking Outreach Council started the city’s first safe parking site in March 2012 at a church in Ballard. The Outreach Coordinator will work to expand the Safe Parking Program by recruiting faith-based organizations to host new sites. The work includes visiting potential sites, assessing site conditions and capacity, identifying the appropriate safe parking model, providing technical assistance during program setup, and working with the host site’s manager and case management agency.
The council needs an energetic, motivated individual who can successfully manage his/her time, organize and promote events, file concise written reports, and work effectively with case management agency, City officials, nonprofits and community members
