Description
The Storeroom Clerk is able to communicate in a professional manner and provide service to departments serving all age groups. The MM Clerk demonstrates ad working knowledge of Materials Management functions related to overall facility needs. The Storeroom Clerk performs department audits for ER, Med/Surg and Monitored Care Units utilizing handheld computer device, checking par levels and replenishing from storeroom inventory. The Storeroom Clerk fills department requisitions timely and accurately and posts in computer system. The Storeroom Clerk inspects all incoming freight for damage and verifies packing slips against freight received and purchase order. The Storeroom Clerk is attentive to deliveries with special instructions for temperature control to assure product maintains integrity. The Storeroom Clerk stocks storeroom shelves rotating inventory First In First Out. The Storeroom Clerk monitors outdates of inventory items. The Storeroom Clerk delivers non-stock orders to various departments and prepares all outbound freight for shipment. The Storeroom Clerk is consistently monitoring inventory stock levels in computer system and comparing to actual amounts on hand to assure accuracy quantities on hand. The Storeroom Clerk applies charge labels to all supplies that are set up with patient charges in computer system. The Storeroom Clerk assists with distribution of clean linen to areas of the facility. The Storeroom Clerk uses vendor websites for various tasks such as outbound freight management, product research, shipment updates and other information. The Storeroom Clerk keeps work area, Audit Carts, Linen Carts, Off-site delivery containers and storeroom shelves clean and sanitized. The Storeroom Clerk assumes other Materials Management responsibilities in the absence of other Materials Management staff. The Storeroom Clerk follows all policies and procedures as established by WGH. The Storeroom Clerk reports all damaged and malfunctioning equipment to MM Director and completes Engineering work order in computer system.

Requirements
Education, License, or any special requirements:
- High School Graduate required. Experience in a healthcare environment desirable.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow directions and must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and work with simple fractions and percentages.
- Must have computer/keyboard skills with at least beginner level with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Must be able to deal with problems involving multiple variables.
- Must be able to work under stress caused by patients, visitors, physicians, families, and other departments and maintain a cheerful and friendly disposition at all times. Demonstrate courtesy and a willingness to help.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to walk or stand the majority of workday and must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb step stool, stoop, kneel, or crouch, push and pull, talk and hear.
- Must have good vision, regularly reading 8-10 font type.
- Must be able to push or pull 100 pounds regularly, occasionally more.
