Job Description
If you're a seasoned professional with a track record of success in transmission engineering and planning, then this may be the job for you.
The purpose of this position is to lead WVPA’s transmission engineering & planning efforts to support the advancement of the transmission system by delivering reliable and efficient engineering solutions.
- Oversees the transmission planning, design, and supply chain teams
- Interfaces with WVPA members to coordinate transmission improvements and direct new project development
- Provides industry expertise on transmission planning strategies within transmission regions and RTO processes
- Serves as a transmission representative to outside stakeholders including neighboring utilities, economic development leads, and other partners
- Drives the development and execution of transmission engineering design and material standards
- Supports the development of supply chain processes and ensures accurate inventory records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or considerable relevant experience in utility planning and/or engineering required
- 15 years’ progressive experience in substation design, transmission line design, and/or transmission planning required
- 5 years’ progressive experience in a supervisory role required
- Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred
