Job Summary
As an integral part of the sales team, the Quotations Specialist focuses on quoting WAC Lighting products and projects while working internally and externally with various departments, reps and customers. A successful candidate will recognize opportunities to close profitable orders, supply proactive delivery schedules and provide top notch quality customer support.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide quotations to customers by utilizing sales and technical knowledge for the preparation of quotation packages for complex projects.
- Collect and prepare crucial project data to deliver quotes quickly, accurately, competitively, and transparently as requested by Inside Sales, outside sales reps and customers.
- Follow-up on open and outstanding quotes to ensure timely closure.
- Improve the quotation process through root cause analysis and provide recommendations to policies and procedures for both short and long-term solutions.
- Coordinate bid strategy to maximize profitability with outside sales representatives by interpreting customer requirements.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge in order to proactively recognize and avoid project issues.
- Work across departments to resolve rep and customer issues concerning project lead times, pricing and competition.
- Conduct field requests for custom products, manage customer expectations and deliver resolutions while minimizing cost and impact to lead time.
- Work closely with the sales team to prepare statistical reports and to accurately maintain integrity of the quotation project database.
- 3-5 years of professional quotation or sales support experience in the electrical product distribution industry.
- Proven high level verbal and written communication skills, project management, organizational skills and independent decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail in composing materials, establishing priorities and meeting challenging deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Availability and willingness for occasional travel to attend tradeshows and industry events.
