Position Summary

As a Machinist, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing process by setting up and operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Your attention to detail, knowledge of machining techniques, and ability to work with various materials are essential in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the components you produce.
What you will do
Machine Setup and Operation
-Set up andcalibrate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC
(Computer Numerical Control) machines.
-Load and secure workpieces into machines and select appropriate cutting tools.
-Program CNC machines, if applicable, and monitor their operation.
Precision Machining
-Operate machine tools to cut, shape, and finish metal parts according to engineering
drawings, blueprints, or specifications.
-Monitor machine operations and make
adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy and quality.
Tool Selection and Maintenance
-Select and install cutting tools, drills, and other tooling, ensuring they are in good
working condition.
-Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools, such as sharpening, cleaning, and
lubrication.
Quality Assurance
-Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and visual defects, using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
-Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling to correct deviations from
specifications.
Material Handling
-Handle and load raw materials, such as metal bars, sheets, or blocks, into machines.
-Follow safety protocols for material handling, including using lifting equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Safety and Compliance
-Adhere to safety protocols, including machine safety procedures and the safe handling of
materials and tools.
-Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
Documentation
-Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tool changes, and inspection results.
-Complete work orders and documentation for traceability and quality control purposes.
Problem Solving
-Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and process issues, implementing corrective actions.
-Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to address technical challenges and optimize machining processes.
Additional Duties
-Perform other duties as assigned by management or as necessary to meet the organization's needs.
What we are looking for
-High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
-Proficiency in machining techniques, including CNC programming, if applicable.
-Knowledge of various metals, alloys, and cutting tools.
-Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control methods.
-Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
-Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
-Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
-Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
-Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing production schedules.
