Primary Purpose:
Deliver rapid and effective technology field services through maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computers, peripherals, and network devices to all campuses and administrative departments within the district. Responsible for phone support, technology problems evaluation, and distribution of technology-related work orders.

Prolonged use of computer and telephone; Maintain emotional control under stress, hectic pace, and work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions; occasional strenuous walking, standing, bending, and climbing; moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; and operation of a motor vehicle. Working in office environment and with diverse community groups. Frequent work in industrial and classroom environment. Occasional work in utility closets, cable chases, and above suspended ceilings.

Two years of college or technical school/military training in computer maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
Valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Knowledge of various operating systems (UNIX, DOS, Windows, Macintosh)
Knowledge of a wide variety of software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Email applications and educational applications
Ability to detect and resolve technical or technology-related problems
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service perspective
Strong writing skills
Strong ability to multitask
Knowledge of basic SQL scripting
Familiarity with public school operations
Ability to present information to a group of employees (>30)
Experience:

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide customer service in person, over phone, and by email to assist end-users in resolving computer hardware and software problems.
- Perform repairs to desktop and laptop computers and related equipment.
- Process and complete technology related work orders.
- Evaluate and recommend technology related repairs and purchase of parts and equipment.
- Setup and/or upgrade district hardware and software.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required.
- Assist in conducting technology training for campus personnel.
- Recommend policies toward the improvement of delivery of services.
- Responsible for the pick up and return of off-site repaired equipment and replacement and return of parts within specified time frame.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Stay knowledgeable of advances in technology. Attain and maintain technical certifications.
- Manage help desk and remote software installation systems.
- Inform staff during meetings on the use of the remote software installation system and other technology training.
- Coordinate with network division prior to any software deployments.
- Work harmoniously with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors in a team environment.
- Create tutorials for end-user technology procedures.
- Promote Waco ISD in all aspects of business operations and business relationships.
- Promote the overall enhancement and improvement of Waco ISD.
- Keep the Technology Support Services Supervisor informed and up-to-date on business services and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
