As a Human Resources (HR) Manager, you will make a difference by overseeing HR activities such as recruitment and retention, employee relations, compliance and so much more. WACOSA, a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization, has been providing services to individuals with disabilities since 1963. The organization was originally founded by a group of parents who wanted to create opportunities for their children and others with disabilities. WACOSA’s services are provided at our five program locations in Waite Park, St. Cloud and Sauk Centre, MN.
Our programs provide a wide variety of personal life enrichment activities, employment and career options, and volunteering and community connection opportunities. The clients we serve help us develop an ever changing, wide ranging, menu of services that meet their individual goals, needs and dreams.
Essential Duties Include:
- Supervise Administrative Assistant(s) and HR Generalist and conduct staff reviews in a timely manner.
- Act as a strategic partner with the Human Resources Chair of the WACOSA Board of Directors
- Lead full-cycle recruiting including interviewing, hiring, onboarding and strategic planning.
- Monitor and analyze staff turnover and guide workforce and succession planning.
- Guide management teams in areas of coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions. Investigate and facilitate employee relation issues and interpret and enforce policies and provide coaching and direction to Managers when needed.
- Oversee benefit administration, Family Medical Leave Act, Affirmative Action, and EEO-1 report filing
- Respond to unemployment claims.
- Provide direction for Safety Committee; including maintaining WACOSA’s AWAIR, Blood Borne Pathogen, Lock Out Tag Out, RTK, and other safety policies.
- Oversee administration of worker compensation program and OSHA compliance.
- Act as Compliance Officer through review, development, implementation, monitoring, documenting and reporting activities related to the WACOSA Compliance Program.
- Update of the Employee Handbook on an annual basis to ensure that it is compliant with legislative requirements and organizational practices.
