Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage CI/CD pipelines for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Investigate and triage deployment failures, ensuring timely resolution.
- Identify and resolve root causes of failures, including:
- Tooling issues (e.g., misconfigurations, build agent failures).
- Capacity constraints (e.g., compute/memory limits, API throttling).
- Billing and quota limits (e.g., exceeding Azure subscription quotas).
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to resolve deployment issues.
- Improve deployment reliability by analyzing patterns and implementing optimizations.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and change management policies.
- Support production and non-production deployments within an Azure App Service Environment (ASE).
- Participate in incident management and on-call rotations to provide deployment support.
- Document troubleshooting processes, best practices, and lessons learned.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Expertise:
- Azure DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines – Strong understanding of Azure DevOps, pipeline automation, and deployment workflows.
- YAML Expertise – Experience defining and troubleshooting YAML-based pipeline configurations.
- Azure App Service Environment (ASE) – Experience in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications within an ASE.
- Incident Management & Troubleshooting – Ability to investigate, diagnose, and triage failures in build and deployment pipelines.
- Azure Cloud Knowledge – Strong understanding of Azure services, networking, storage, and VM instances.
- Billing and Quota Management – Awareness of Azure subscription quotas, cost management, and optimizing resource usage.
Preferred Skills:
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Background – Understanding of:
- AVD architecture (host pools, session hosts, workspaces).
- AVD deployment models (pooled vs. personal desktops).
- FSLogix profile management for user session persistence.
- RDP and networking configurations for AVD connectivity.
- AVD scaling plans and cost optimization strategies.
Compensation / Salary Range: The typical pay for this role across the U.S. is: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum. Factors that may affect pay within or outside of this range may include but not limited to geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
