Washington Gastroenterology is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to join our Bellevue Clinic Team. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for front line patient contact, including triage calls, scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, and maintaining a smooth patient flow.
Responsibilities
- Meets and greets patients while speaking politely and clearly with all focus on the patient
- Answers the telephone, schedules patient appointments and takes messages
- Answers questions when appropriate, including responding to billing questions in a timely and accurate manner
- Obtains and verifies patient demographic and financial information and enters patient information into the registration system(s) accurately
- Ensures the chart and the necessary forms are prepared for the patients visit
- Collects patient amounts due including co-pays, and balances due
- Processes and prepares outgoing mail
- Schedules follow-up appointments, outpatient procedures, tests, and makes referrals to physicians as necessary
- Requests medical records/reports from referring physicians and confirms patient appointment
- Forwards schedules to appropriate facilities for physicians and patients.
- Faxes procedure packet/clinic packet into EMR as needed
- Mails brochures and other materials to patients as necessary with attention to detail to ensure accuracy of paperwork
- Assists as required to ensure proper authorizations are in place
- Balance cash ledger and prepare envelope for billing to deposit, includes the warp reconciliation and calls total daily
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical office setting, with a working knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience and/or training in medical office protocol
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office
- Experience with multiple phone lines, and ability to operate standard office machinery, including fax, copier, and postage meter
Physical Activities and Requirements
- Occasional travel may be required to other local locations on an as-needed basis to back-fill for vacations, etc.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the day, up to 10 hours per day
- Prolonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computers
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach
- Able to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 25 pounds)

Compensation and Benefits
- Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance.
- In addition, employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
- All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40-hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire. WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule
- This is an Hourly position, and the anticipated Compensation range is $18.06-22.31. The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.
