Wainwright House is 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Non-Profit Organization serving the community with outstanding programs and classes designed to enhance human potential. We are housed in a 1928 historic chateau on the Milton Point in Rye, NY - a copy of the Raincheval Chateaux located in France. Renting out the venue for weddings, conferences, and other events is the primary source for funding operations and maintaining the property.
Job Description:
The Venue Manager must grow relationships with Wainwright House members, individuals, and corporations who book events to maintain a catalog of repeat business while prospecting for new events with an emphasis on business that supports WH’s mission. Additionally, s/he will assist with the promotion of Wainwright House, which heightens awareness within the community and greater New York area.
- Plan and strategically coordinate rentals and events from inception to execution that include celebratory events (weddings, birthdays, holiday parties, etc.), community meetings, corporate meetings, retreats (corporate and holistic) for members, non-members and community organizations.
- Manage all contract negotiation, execution and management from inception to event completion.
- Proactively market Wainwright House to new and existing customers, members and community organizations to maximize number of booked events for new business and repeat business.
- Develop and coordinate inquiry intake process to ensure effective conversion rate.
- Detailed communication and coordination with preferred caterer to share inquires and lead to booked events.
- Book individual tours of the facilities to prospective clients. Show the facility to prospective clients. (Prospective clients may want multiple tours of the facilities.) Communicate the fee schedule.
- Manage all administrative tasks such as insurance requirements, booking schedules and invoicing.
- Work closely with prospective clients to work creatively to design an event that fits their vision at WH.
- Strong communication with entire WH staff to execute all events.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years experience as a Venue Manager or similar capacity.
- Extensive experience with negotiating, understanding the language of and executing event contracts.
- Proven track record of sales performance.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong technical literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with members, employee-partners, vendors and guests.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour
