Wake County Human Resources is hiring for a new role of HR Employee Engagement Manager to lead employee engagement for strategic projects including, organizational assessment and stay surveys, training and career development, Wake University, onboarding, succession planning, performance management, rewards and recognition, and total rewards including compensation, benefits, and wellness. The HR Employee Engagement Manager collaborates with Wake County’s internal Communications Department on internal communications including key messaging and employee branding while working across all County departments to improve employee engagement and retention.
This position currently reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer but will eventually report to the newly created Organizational Development Director.
The purpose of this position is to develop strategies to improve employee engagement and communication, and to manage the engagement of programs designed to foster it, such as rewards and recognition programs, wellness programs, and other programs and activities that result in healthy workplace culture. The Employee Engagement Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing employee satisfaction, fostering a positive organizational culture, and supporting operational functions across multiple departments. This multifaceted role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, a creative mindset, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. The HR Employee Engagement Manager works closely with stakeholders to facilitate execution of data-driven recommendations, monitor outcomes of programs, and ensure alignment with the organization’s goals. Emergency Service Worker Statement

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Marketing, Communications or related field
- Three years of experience in human resources, communication, or employee engagement
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- Three years of project management experience
- Master’s degree
- SHRM-CP, PMP, HRPM, IMPA-SCP, PHR, SPHR, GPHR certifications
- Ability to identify trends, gaps, and challenges and execute solution-focused strategies and programs to mitigate gaps and challenges.
- Ability to develop action plans and recommend interventions to effectively address issues, where appropriate. Conduct focus groups, climate assessment, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written) both individually and within groups.
- Ability to work in stressful and sensitive situations. Action-oriented with a demonstrated track record of delivering solutions with tact and diplomacy.
- Able to break complex projects into manageable tasks, identify and engage appropriate resources, and deliver accurate, on-time results. Critical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills and a tendency to challenge the status quo.
