Position Summary:
The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a motivated and detail oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Events Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will manage small and non-signature events, while providing key administrative support to the Director of Operations and the Marketing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Management (60%):
- Schedule, coordinate, plan, and implement small and non-signature Chamber events
- Manage event budgets and conduct post-event follow-ups
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Marketing Director on event execution
- Ensure all event logistics are handled efficiently and professionally
2. Administrative Support (30%):
- Assist the Director of Operations and Marketing Director with various administrative tasks
- Provide front desk coverage for a few hours per week as needed
- Handle general inquiries and correspondence
- Maintain organized files and records
3. General Duties (10%):
- Attend Chamber meetings and events as required
- Contribute to the overall success of the Chamber by supporting team initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in event planning or administrative support roles
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for events

- This is a part-time position without benefits
- The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with some in-office presence required
- Hours may vary based on event schedules and organizational needs
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup
