JOB SUMMARY
Under technical supervision from academic staff members, performs a variety of molecular, cellular, histological and genomics technical duties and investigations in support of cancer research-oriented activities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Master's degree with four years’ experience in a research or laboratory setting; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Obtains data in support of research-oriented activities by conducting conducting molecular, cellular, histological, and/or genomics tests, experiments, determinations, and observations.
- Designs, develops, and constructs specialized instruments, equipment and apparatus as required for performance of research activities.
- Develop new research procedures and techniques as needed.
- Operates various electronic devices in the collection, tabulation, and calculation of data.
- Closely work with departmental administrative team on maintaining grant budgets and expenditures and assists with new grant planning and preparation.
- Coordinate with faculty PI's collaborators in team research.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

- Demonstrates knowledge of scientific principles
- Strong computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Public speaking experience
- Ability to prepare grant proposals with minimal supervision.
