Senior Program Director, Southport Clubhouse

Wakeman Boys & Girls Club is looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to oversee a diverse range of youth programs. The individual in this role will ensure that these initiatives align with community needs and meet BGCA national standards. The position is responsible for both strategic program planning and day-to-day operational oversight. This role requires someone with a solid track record of innovative program design and a deep understanding of operational management.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: **

Sr. Program Director is responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of a wide range of educational, recreational, and impactful programs, including After School, Summer Camp, and Sports & Well-Being programs. The Sr. Director will lead staff, volunteers, and mentors, ensuring professional development and smooth daily operations. Additionally, they will monitor program outcomes, assess success, and report to the Club Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
• Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
• Will be required to have - or to obtain - CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Obtain public passenger endorsement.
• Demonstrated history of direct supervision within a youth serving organization.
• Experience with Summer Camp programming and State compliance/licensure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Oversee administration of designated Clubhouse programs to support Youth Development Outcomes.
• Align program objectives with the organization’s goals and mission.
• Ensure day-to-day program activities meet established standards and goals.
• Provide leadership to ensure the conduct, safety, and development of members.
• Maintain program settings that ensure the health and safety of members.
• Adhere to safety standards in accordance with BGCA, state, local, and federal guidelines.
• Continuously evaluate program quality using measurable outcomes and data to address diverse member needs.
• Manage program expenditures within the approved budget.
• Supervise youth development professionals and volunteers, ensuring effective recruitment, performance, and annual reviews.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable program area for participants, volunteers, and staff.
• Ensure program spaces are safe, clean, and functional, supporting Youth Development Outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Club Director and Membership Director on marketing efforts to increase program visibility and recruitment.
• Maintain regular communication with staff, members, and supervisors to share information and address issues.
• Maintain primary responsibility for safe, clean, functional program spaces and stimulating program areas to support Youth Development Outcomes. Jointly work with Directors and Custodian to support Front Desk and Lobby area, including adult and teen staff.
• Assist Club Director and Membership Director in coordinating marketing efforts and increased visibility of Wakeman Boys & Girls Club Programs, including attendance at PTA and community events, recruitment of program participants through fliers, mailings, social media posts, press releases, email updates, through www.wakemanclub.org and personal interaction with parents and children.
• Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, member's parents and others to strengthen partnerships, relationships and problem solving when needed.

Salary Range:

Competitive base salary range based on experience $58,000-$65,000.
