Overview
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Cost Analyst to join the Walbridge team. In this role you will manage a portfolio of medium-to-large construction projects and function as a liaison with the Cost Control and the project leadership team. You’ll provide insights into project costs and help identify and proactively provide solutions to project issues. This role will require you to manage the maintenance of various budgeting, change order, cost tracking/analysis/reporting and invoicing processes.

Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities
- Estimating Collaboration: Work with Estimating to fully understand the As-Sold Estimate along with preparing the baseline project cash flow.
- Cost Impact Analysis: Review and analyze cost impacts associated with contract claims, incentives, and penalties as well as assessing the financial implications of project scope changes and delays, providing recommendations for budget adjustments.
- Budget Realignment: Make recommendations for realigning project budgets and contingencies based on project scope changes, actual costs, and estimates to complete.
- Presentations: Prepare, coordinate, and deliver project budget and cost presentations to internal management and to the client, as required.
Qualifications
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 3 years cost accounting and project controls experience.
- Experience with budget development, cost control management and analysis.
- Knowledge of Project Control Systems and processes.
- Comfortable working with all levels and functions in a constructive fashion to achieve organizational objectives.
- Experience with building cash flows for long duration construction projects.
- Advanced Excel abilities (Pivot tables, VLookup, or SumIf).
- Ability to travel occasionally to other offices and job sites.
- Effective communication skills across a broad spectrum of departments.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction management.
- Experience with Rules of Credit and Earned Value Measurement Systems.
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management or business.
- Prior experience with CMiC Accounting software.
- Prior experience with Oracle Textura invoicing software.
- Self-motivation as well as self-starting.
