Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, supports the school’s accounting and financial reporting functions, coordinates benefits administration and assists the Business Manager and Administrative Team
Specific Responsibilities:
Payroll/Human Resources
- Manage the interconnectivity between the school’s payroll partner (currently Paycor) and our benefit providers (various).
- Support employees with all benefit concerns and transactions.
- Supports the interview and hiring process,, both on- and out- boarding, and handles other sensitive employee issues with great care. Manage up when appropriate. Document fully.
- Assist the Business Manager with benefit renewals that serve the employees and meet the financial budgets
- Respond to unemployment, L & I, all other claim and information inquiries timely.
Accounting
- Executes the monthly close with all reconciliations accomplished successfully.
- Track monthly payroll and benefit expenses for accuracy and repair where necessary.
- Monitor payroll and benefit expenses to ensure adherence to budget.
- Manages and tracks supporting data worksheets with accuracy, completes related JE efficiently.
- Participate with the school’s independent auditors and support the Business Manager in preparation of documentation for audit and of the Form 990.
- Develop proficiency with all business office software such as Quickbooks, TADs and Paycor
- Verify accruals at the beginning of each fiscal year in conjunction with the Business Manager
- Monitor bank balances and alert the Business Manager about cash flow requirements.
- Assist other members of the Administrative Team with accounting transactions.
Other

- Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Support the Administrative Office Team when needed for receptionist and clerical duties
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or evidence of acumen achieved through experience
- 3 years AP and Payroll accounting experience in a nonprofit environment a plus
- Experience in HR transactions, related HR legalities and the Laws of Kentucky
- Experience in independent and/or Waldorf schools preferred

Hourly Pay Rate: $19-$22 hourly part time to full time
