What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development and Events Coordinator position at Walker Basin Conservancy?
The Development and Events Coordinator supports the fundraising team and Conservancy events. This position supports administrative functions for major gifts fundraising, grants, and fundraising events. Additionally, this position assists with public events supporting the Walker Basin Restoration Program, staff events, and community engagement.
The Conservancy is currently launching a major capital campaign, and this position will play a key role in organizing, planning and communicating on this effort.

Expectations and Core Accountabilities
- Provide administrative support to the Development Director and CEO, including donor data entry, gift tracking, acknowledgement letters, and prospect research.
- Maintain accurate donor records and collaborate with finance staff to ensure timely reconciliation of fundraising and accounting records.
- Assist with planning and execution of donor cultivation and fundraising events, including managing logistics, coordinating vendors, and tracking RSVPs.
- Draft, edit, and distribute donor correspondence, fundraising appeals, and stewardship communications.
- Support the coordination of occasional staff events and public engagement events that enhance team culture and public visibility of the Conservancy's work.
- Help implement special development initiatives such as capital campaigns and major gift strategies, including scheduling, materials prep, and donor follow-up.
- Maintain event and fundraising calendars, timelines, and checklists to ensure smooth execution of development-related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Experience planning or implementing fundraising events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort drafting donor-facing materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with donor databases or CRM’s is a plus.
- Friendly, organized, and solution-oriented with a passion for conservation and community engagement.
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends for special events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
