Walker Lambe, PLLC, a Durham-based law firm, is seeking a Paralegal/Junior Associate to join our legal team. We're looking for a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented team member to play an important role on our Estate Administration legal team.
Experience/Skills:
- 2 years of experience in a law firm or clerk’s office in the field of Estate Administration, Probate, Estate Planning, or in a related legal, financial, or accounting field with transferable skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Adobe, Outlook and ability to learn Client Management/Case Management Software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage projects, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Collaboration and Teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with Fiduciary Income Tax and/or Estate Tax.
- Notary public (or willingness to obtain same).
Responsibilities:
- Drafting and finalizing estate administration documents for Court filing.
- Drafting estate and trust accountings and performing administrative tasks related to administration of estates and trusts under supervision of attorneys.
- Communication with clients in person, through e-mail and by telephone.
- Preparation of correspondence and other written forms of communication.
- Maintaining paper and digital files of legal documents.
