Wallace Electrical is hiring an Electrical BIM (Building Information Modeling) Operator to be responsible for creating and managing detailed 3D models of electrical systems using BIM software. This role involves collaborating with project teams, including engineers, designers, and contractors, to ensure accurate and efficient design, coordination, and documentation of electrical projects. The BIM Operator plays a critical role in identifying potential clashes, streamlining workflows, and supporting the successful execution of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- BIM Modeling and Design
Create and update 3D models of electrical systems using BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD MEP).
Develop accurate and detailed plans, schematics, and layouts for electrical installations.
Incorporate specifications, codes, and project requirements into the models.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other trade teams to ensure design consistency and integration.
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts using coordination tools like Navisworks.
Participate in coordination meetings to address design and construction issues.
Generate detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
Maintain and update project files, ensuring version control and accuracy.
Prepare schedules, bill of materials, and other supporting documentation.
Ensure all models comply with project standards, codes, and client specifications.
Conduct regular quality checks to verify model accuracy and completeness.
Stay updated with the latest BIM standards, tools, and technologies.
Provide technical support and training to team members on BIM tools and processes.
Assist in developing and implementing BIM workflows and standards within the organization.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in BIM modeling, preferably in the electrical or construction industry.
Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in BIM software, such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, layouts, and construction processes.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Certifications
Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit or a similar credential (preferred).
Knowledge of BIM standards like ISO 19650 (a plus).
Work Environment
Office-based with occasional site visits for project assessments.
