JOB SUMMARY
The Route Parts Sales position is responsible for soliciting parts business from assigned accounts through personal and phone contacts. This position will deliver parts to the various business locations in the surrounding area.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years’ experience required:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum one year experience in heavy truck parts industry and/or sales.
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Valid commercial driver's license and a clean driving record; experience pulling a gooseneck trailer is preferred.
- Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable):
- No supervisory responsibilities required with this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITES
- Service assigned customers on route and prospect for new customers.
- Submit parts orders for all designated customers.
- Completes core battery, warranty, and new part returns per Company policy.
- Local delivery of parts using a pick up and gooseneck trailer; must be able to load and unload necessary parts.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable).
- Some overnight travel may be required as needed. (Lodging, meals and travel expenses are compensated per company guidelines.)
- Follow up with sales, coordinate returns, and overall customer service.
- Must be capable of working under pressure, work independently, and have the ability to handle stressful situations that may arise.
- Completes vehicle safety checks per Company policy and operates the vehicle within safety guidelines; immediately reports any safety concerns or Company Policy violations to management.
- Services existing accounts, obtains and follows up on orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential new accounts.
- Customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment to meet the needs of the company, employees, and/or customers.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
- Performs Wallwork Inc.-wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor.
- Upholds Wallwork Inc. ethical standards and demonstrate the behavioral and service expectations as defined in our policies and procedures.
