Role Overview:
As a Senior Manager, Business Development for Data Ventures, you will be responsible for driving sales and managing strategic partnerships for Walmart Luminate. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base by selling subscriptions and ensuring client satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of data analytics, a strong sales acumen, and the ability to forge long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Business Development:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for Walmart Luminate subscriptions.
- Identify and target potential clients, including retailers, manufacturers, and other businesses that can benefit from Luminate’s offerings.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer needs.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the value of Walmart Luminate.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to drive subscription sales.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and develop strategic partnerships that enhance the value proposition of Walmart Luminate.
- Work closely with product development and marketing teams to align sales strategies with product offerings.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Use CRM tools to manage sales pipeline and track customer interactions.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Mentor and guide junior members of the business development team.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Requires knowledge of:
- Syndicated Point of Sale (POS) Data Industry (e.g. NielsenIQ, Circana, SPINS, etc.)
- Primary Research methods and analytics
- Supply Chain, Logistics and Replenishment data and analytics
- eCommerce environments and Path-to-Purchase analytics
- Retail Media ad targeting capabilities and advertising performance analytics.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role, preferably in the data analytics or technology sector.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of data analytics and its applications in business decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
