Your Role
The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of global Costuming initiatives. This includes managing projects with multi-year durations and budgets ranging from small to many millions.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Establishes project scopes, detailed business requirements, timelines, budgets, and cash flows.
- Liaison: Serves as the primary liaison between multiple teams, including Costuming (domestic and international sites), Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Legal, Technology & Digital, and external vendors.
- Methodology and Tools: Right-sizes project management methodology and tools to the individual needs of each project.
- Risk Management: Assesses project risks and formulates mitigation plans.
- Cross-Site Collaboration: Cultivates relationships with business partners in our theme parks and resorts worldwide to influence and drive projects and standard process sharing across sites.
- Reporting and Communication: Provides briefings and status reports to executives, leaders, and team members on a regular basis, identifying key milestones and critical path elements.
- Project Closure: Ensures accurate project closure, including retrospectives/lessons learned, documentation for all processes and systems, and final financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience leading multi-year programs/projects with large budgets.
- Certification in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Agile, Business Analysis, Six Sigma, ITIL, Supply Chain.
- Experience with multiple project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, DMAIC, DFSS, etc.
- Experience collaborating and working through compromise that result in win/win agreements and outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to facilitate project meetings and large workshops to drive commitments and accountability.
- Proven ability to deliver projects timely and on-budget while communicating with executive leadership, sponsors, and clients.
- Ability to work in a business environment where cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis are key decision factors.
- In-depth experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, Monday.com, MS Project, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Disney Theme Parks & Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, and Costuming operations.
- Knowledge of Costuming specific systems and technology, including RFID, GUS, SAP Inventory Management, and SAP Warehouse Management.
- Prior experience with SQL programming and business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with supply chain principles and strategies.
- Experience leading supply chain, consulting, or business integration projects.
Education
- A high school degree or equivalent experience is required.
- An advanced degree or equivalent experience in Project Management, Business Management, Process Improvement, or related fields is preferred.
