Floral Operations Area Manager 

Operations Manager - The Design Haus

Location: Hickory Creek, TX
Position Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:

The Floral Operations Area Manager at The Design Haus is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of our wedding and event floral business, ensuring seamless execution of events in their region from an inventory and logistics standpoint, inventory management, and team coordination. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of floral events. Ensure all client specifications are met within budget and on time. Checking over all floral recipes to ensure they are complete
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    Hire, manage and mentor a team of floral production specialists and floral operation specialists. Provide guidance and foster a positive work environment to ensure high team performance.
    Implement disciplinary actions as needed to hold team members accountable
  • Operational Efficiency:
    Implement strategies to streamline workflow, increase productivity, and reduce operational costs. Continuously improve systems to enhance delivery, setup, and breakdown processes.
  • Inventory Management:
    Ensure the timely procurement of materials and supplies. Oversee inventory control, including tracking, forecasting, and restocking based on demand. Report all data to Global Floral Operations Manager.
  • Vendor Relations:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with local flower wholesalers, supply vendors, and transportation providers to ensure the best possible pricing and service.
  • Logistics and Scheduling:
    Coordinate schedules for event setups, deliveries, and breakdowns. Ensure that all events are staffed and resourced appropriately, and adjust plans as necessary to meet changing needs.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Ensure that all floral arrangements meet The Design Haus’s standards for quality and design. Implement and monitor quality control procedures for installations and event execution.
  • Client Satisfaction:
    Work closely with the sales and design teams to ensure that client expectations are understood and exceeded. Address any operational issues that may arise during events to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Budget Management:
    Monitor expenses and ensure that operations stay within budget. Work with Global Floral Operations Manager to forecast budgets for upcoming projects and allocate resources effectively.
  • Fleet Management:
    Maintain operational status of company vehicles, scheduling maintenance appointments, and ensure all vehicles are in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations. Maintain a safe working environment for all staff and oversee the proper handling of flowers and equipment.

 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or related field (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the floral, events, or wedding industry
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using project management and scheduling software
  • Knowledge of floral design and the wedding/event industry (a plus)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive delivery vans/box trucks
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Ability to stand for an extended period
