Position Summary: Social Emotional Learning Teacher Leaders will provide training to our educators and serve as SEL leaders and models for WVHS educators in the Waltham Public Schools. The SEL Teacher Leaders’ work is rooted in things that will support students to develop a set of tools directly related to the CASEL core competencies (social awareness, self-awareness, responsible decision making, self-management, and relationship skills).
Responsibilities May Include:
- Providing Tier 1/Community Building training to educators in your building during dedicated professional development time set forth within the Waltham Educators Association Contract.
- Analyzing SEL data to inform SEL initiatives at WVHS
- Supporting the effective implementation of the SEL initiatives in your assigned building in partnership with the building administrators.
- Developing curriculum for the SEL Advisory periods for WVHS and/or ways to infuse SEL practices and skills into content area delivery, in partnership with fellow SEL Teacher Leaders, Building Administrators, and the Director of School Counseling
- Participation in building meetings and conversations in support of your School Improvement Plan.
- Consulting regularly with other trainers, the Director of School Counseling, and external partners.
- Participating in other SEL priorities as identified by individual building administrators.

Duration of Position: Remainder of 24-25 school year
Compensation: Up to 25 hours outside of contractual time at $40 per hour (up to $1,000)
