General Responsibilities : Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and protocols. This role includes conducting safety inspections, training employees on safety practices, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and address any safety concerns proactively.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Promote a safety-first culture through leading by example.
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace. Create recommendations for review and implement solution.
- Conducts regular safety audits for PPE, Shop Floor, Forklift Use and Firearm Handling.
- Create and report on Safety KPIs related to operations.
- Enhance and manage the PPE program for injury prevention.
- Serves as a main contact for incidents, injuries, near misses, and any safety concerns.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Coordinate and conduct regular emergency drills.
- Maintain and review written Safety Programs, as well as trainings to ensure Safety compliance with OSHA regulations and company operating procedures. Advise on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations.
- Schedules and leads safety meetings, Toolbox Talks, and Safety Orientation for new employees.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Perform root cause analysis on incidents to determine underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
- Manage Workers' Compensation cases and other related documentation.
- Assists with Continuous Improvement activities.
