Job Summary:
The Experienced Mechanical Designer plays a key role in creating detailed design solutions tailored to client needs. This position requires strong technical expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems, the ability to analyze blueprints, and the skill to perform site surveys. You'll work closely with engineers, estimators, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Documentation:
- Develop design concepts based on client specifications.
- Create accurate and coordinated drawings with other trades and physical structures.
- Analyze blueprints and prepare HVAC and plumbing calculations.
- Reference and integrate building codes and standards into designs.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Perform site surveys and collaborate with vendors for equipment selection.
- Attend project and progress meetings to ensure alignment with client needs.
- Provide technical direction to mechanical designers and technicians.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather data for project success.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, or pipe systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Fabrication CADmep, Revit, Navisworks Manage, and Carrier HAP.
- Strong understanding of mechanical building codes and construction standards.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education & Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree or technical trade school completion preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- 3-5 years of relevant construction and project experience.
Working Conditions:
- This role includes both office work and fieldwork, requiring walking, standing, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and navigating job sites.
- Occasional travel to job sites with possible exposure to uneven surfaces and outdoor environments.
