What are the responsibilities and job description for the MACHINE SHOP position at Wam Inc?

Job Description

Work experience requirements :

Setup, operate and maintain both CNC and Manual lathes and mills.
Knowledge of machining tools (drills, inserts, etc…) as well as feeds and speeds needed for efficiency and tool life.
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Machine to dimensions and tolerances set by blueprint
Detect and report defective material or questionable conditions to supervision
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow all safety regulations.

Education / Requirements

Must read a tape measure and other measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc…)

Ability to read blueprint drawings

Lift up to 50 pounds.

Good analytical and mathematical skills to interpret drawings

Ability to use an overhead crane

Familiarity with computers and Windows-based computer programs is a plus

Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing PPE (safety glasses, Mask, Steel toe shoes)
