Locum Anesthesiology Position at Waldo County General Hospital

Schedule:

• Availability: Hourly, flexible.
• Call Schedule: Every third night, 7a-4pm; one weekend per month (1:4), 24 hours.
• Dates of Coverage: April 14-24; May 19-30; June, July, August - exact dates TBD.

• Reason for Coverage: Retirement and relocation of two physician providers.
• Practice Setting: Critical access hospital in historic Belfast, Maine.
• Call Ratio: Flexible, every third night.
• Documentation System/EMR: EPIC.
• Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: 14-16, including endoscopy.
• Supervision of CRNAs: No, physicians perform their own cases.
• Trauma Level/Designation: No trauma.
• Number of Anesthesiologists: 4.
• Preparation of Anesthesia Cart: Pre-op population of Epic.
• Patient Age Demographic: 3-100 years.
• OR Staff Description: Congenial, professional, and helpful staff.
• Operating Rooms: Three anesthesia sites per day.

• General Surgical Cases (Adult)
• Minor Nerve Blocks
• Plexus anesthesia
• Epidural Anesthesia
• Spinal Anesthesia
• Regional Anesthesia
• Obstetrical Cases

Pain Management Procedures: Acute
Insertion of Arterial Line:
Management of Acute Volume/BP Issues: Yes
Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days

• Active OB Program: Yes, averaging 4-6 deliveries per month.
• Epidural Policies: Anesthesiologists can leave the hospital after initiating epidurals, with a call-back requirement.
• Call Response Time: ACOG guidelines, 30 minutes.

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified ABA
• Active ME license or IMLC
• OB Certification
• ACLS & BLS Certification
