Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Wedding Photographer to direct and execute all photography on wedding days. As a lead photographer, you will oversee the assistant photographer, capture high-quality shots, and edit the complete gallery to perfection. This role offers the autonomy to set your own pay rates and retain ownership rights to your work while being part of a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Wedding Day Photography: Plan and execute all photography needs on the wedding day, ensuring a seamless and efficient schedule.
- Supervise Assistant Photographers: Provide guidance, direction, and support to the assistant photographer to ensure all key moments are captured.
- Capture All Shots: Document every aspect of the wedding day, including candid moments, posed portraits, and essential details.
- Edit Full Gallery: Curate and edit a comprehensive gallery of high-quality images, incorporating both your shots and those captured by the assistant photographer.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients on the wedding day to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
- Ownership and Pay: Set your own pay rates and retain full ownership rights to your photography work.
- Equipment Management: Bring and manage your own photography equipment, ensuring everything is in excellent working condition for the event.
- Quality Assurance: Deliver consistent, professional, and creative work that meets Ward 3 Media’s high standards of excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a lead wedding photographer or similar role.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in wedding photography and editing.
- Advanced proficiency with DSLR or mirrorless cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment.
- Mastery of editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Reliable transportation to and from event locations.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with diverse wedding traditions and cultural customs.
- Strong storytelling skills through photography.
- Experience managing assistant photographers or second shooters.
- Knowledge of advanced editing techniques for unique and creative effects.
