Traveling Service Technician
This position involves the technical aspects of providing service and installation of diesel exhaust removal system onto emergency response units.
*Extensive Travel Required, 99% and includes weekends. Territory includes the Mid-West Region.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Service and Installation of all products involves re-engineering the vehicles’ current exhaust system to make it NFPA,NIOSH & OSHA compliant.
The training period can last several months depending on the progress of the employee. During training the Probationary Service Technician will learn from one of our experienced Service Technicians. They will travel nation- wide with the designated Technician and gain extensive knowledge of Fire Trucks, Ambulances, Crash Vehicles and other diesel vehicles in a multitude of other markets. Installation of the diesel exhaust removal system involves the following: The system must be wired into the existing electrical system on the vehicle. It needs to use the air that is available on the vehicle or an air system needs to be installed for the system to use. The existing exhaust on the vehicle must be modified to include our “NO SMOKE” system. This modification necessitates the ability to engineer the necessary changes. Each vehicle is different, with various after-market options installed. An installer needs to be able to look at a vehicle and know which parts to use in order to make the necessary modifications. Once training is complete the employee will be traveling throughout the country in a company vehicle. They will be installing our diesel exhaust removal system according to the schedule set by the home office in Horseheads, NY. The employee will be representing our company at each fire department or customer they enter.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- 3 - 5 years related professional experience (automotive exhaust system) is preferred
- Highly motivated and results oriented
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Solid problem solving and consultative skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with minimum supervision
- Must have proven problem-solving skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively and persuasively
- Must be able to apply their communication skills in person and over the phone
- Must be able to work independently!
- Must have a clean driving record as this position will require use of company vehicles.

- Technical support to the office staff as well as customers/potential customers

- Must accurately complete all required documentation, forms and pictures required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
