The HR Business Partner will support and partner with business leaders to align human resources strategies with business objectives. This role requires a proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills to guide employees and leaders on HR-related policies, practices, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in talent management, employee relations, and performance management. This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
Duties and ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work with business leaders on recruitment, onboarding, compensation, retention, and talent strategies.
- Manage, resolve, and provide guidance on employee investigations, and complex employee situations.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand business goals and develop people strategies to meet objectives.
- Support performance management initiatives, including coaching leaders, and assisting with development plans.
- Provide policy guidance and interpretation to leaders and employees to support business and HR initiatives.
- Partner with HR leadership to develop and enhance policies to drive objectives and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Analyze people metrics to make recommendations and plans to enhance organizational efficiency and engagement.
- Serve as backup for HR Generalist duties of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and benefit execution.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to HR team members.
REQUIRED Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with employees and leaders.
- Proficiency in HRIS software, data analysis, and talent management tools.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience as a human resources generalist or a similar role.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Work out of the Appleton, Wisconsin home office location.
- Travel via car or plane up to 20% of the time to visit assigned locations as needed and at least on a monthly basis.
- Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
